The Carl D.
Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 (Perkins IV)
requires
Documentation of Competency (Student
attainment of an industry-recognized credential).

HVAC
Excellence offers three assessment programs, two for secondary and one for
post secondary
programs.
The exams are based, in part, on the “National Skills Standards”. The
comparative analysis reports, aids
in fulfilling the performance indicators for "No Child Left Behind" & “Carl D
Perkins Act” Federal legislation.
Secondary (High School) Assessments
Heating, Electrical, Air Conditioning Technology (H.E.A.T.) -
Secondary students taking the H.E.A.T. exam who
successfully pass the 100 question test are awarded a certificate of
achievement. In order to accommodate geographic
differences two versions are available. Both versions cover basic
electricity, the vapor compression cycle and either gas heat or oil heat.
Heating, Electrical, Air Conditioning Technology
(H.E.A.T) Plus -
A
comprehensive end of program assessment containing the H.E.A.T. competencies
plus computer literacy, safety, related math, employability skills, work
ethics and an performance component (hands-on).

training.
